Denise Officer, Artist on Ngadjuri country, Burra, South  Australia, graduated in Art and Design – Drawing & Sculpture  Prahran College Melbourne.

 

Denise’s diverse arts career includes visual and performing arts, contributing to projects with Midnight Oil, the National Gallery of Australia, and supporting artistic development through initiatives such as Artback Northern Territory Arts Touring and, most recently, the Burra Regional Art Gallery.

 

The works on display here are from The Pitcairn Station Series. Pitcairn Station is 90ks North East of Burra, dry arid marginal county that is being returned to its natural state pre sheep farming.

 

Her most recent exhibition at the Nautlius Gallery in Port Lincoln was in November.  "Meet me at the Gate" series featured three drawings of Orotan Rock near Lilydale Station, dedicated to Colin Zanker, the Station Overseer who introduced her to the landscape and whose final words inspired the series.
